Rock bands Krokus, The Wailers and Procul Harum are among the bands playing at a series of rock concerts to be staged in Malta over the coming months.

Falling under the auspices of the festivals directorate within the Arts Council, the annual series of concerts will be entitled 'Rock’n Malta', which is under the artistic direction of Lou Bondi’.

Krokus, fronted by Maltese singer Marc Storace will be performing on May 20. The Wailers will be performing on August 25, while Procul Harum, authors of the classic Whiter Shade of Pale, will be performing on October 5.

Negotiations are underway to secure at least another two bands for this year.

The concerts will be supported by a line-up of local bands, each in their respective genres – No Snow/No Alps, Fire, 12th Ode, The Riffs, Tash Sultana, Red Electrick and Different Light.

Artistic director Lou Bondi said: “For me, this is a dream come true. I have been lobbying for the organisation of such rock events for 15 years and now it’s happening. I am honoured to be the fist artistic director of Rock‘n Malta and although we are starting small, our ambitions are not.”

Tickets will be available online and from outlets in the coming days. Further information will also be available online soon.
