Steve Camilleri was unable to help his team, CC Ortigia, maintain their mid-table position in the Italian Serie A1.

After suffering four defeats, the Sicilian side are now occupying 11th place out of the 14 teams that make up the Italian senior division.

In the first two matches in February, Ortigia lost heavily to the leading duo of Pro Recco and AN Brescia before they drew with Torino. On Wednesday and Saturday they suffered two narrow 10-9 defeats against SS Lazio and CN Posillipo.

Camilleri, who finished second to drag-racer Duncan Micallef in Saturday’s Sportivi Nazzjonali contest, scored one goal against Brescia and two against Torino to bring up his tally to 25 in the overall scorers’ list.
