Ben Yedder: Wissam Ben Yedder says he has no regrets over moving to Sevilla over Paris St-Germain. The forward joined Sevilla from Toulouse last summer, rather than move to the Ligue 1 champions. “Spain is another world. It’s not the same as Ligue 1. I would have liked to play there before now,” he said.

Ismael: VfL Wolfsburg sacked coach Valerien Ismael yesterday, two days after a 2-1 home loss to fellow Bundesliga strugglers Werder Bremen left them two points above the relegation playoff spot. Ismael had been in charge since October but failed to lift the 2009 champions out of the lower half of the table, with Wolfsburg having lost four of their last five league games. They won six games out of 17 in all competitions under Ismael.

Kurzawa: Arsenal are interested in PSG full-back Layvin Kurzawa, according to sources in France. The Gunners are considering bolstering their options down the left flank and Kurzawa, who joined the Ligue 1 champions from Monaco back in 2015, is viewed as a potential option. He would cost around €20m should they decide to firm up their interest.

Zarate: Watford winger Mauro Zarate has revealed he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury against West Ham on Saturday. The Argentinian, a January signing from Fiorentina, twisted his knee awkwardly towards the end of the first half of the 1-1 draw against his former club. Zarate required oxygen and nine minutes of treatment on the pitch before he was carried off on a stretcher and taken to hospital for scans.

Marseille: Marseille president Jacques-Henri Eyraud said the club intends to invest heavily in new talent. The Ligue 1 side have already signed Dimitri Payet and Patrice Evra since Frank McCourt bought the club in October. “It will give us the opportunity to complete our strengthening of the team ahead of our first full season in control of the club,” Eyraud said.

Deportivo: Deportivo La Coruna announced they have sacked coach Gaizka Garitano a day after a humiliating 4-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Leganes which left them hovering above the relegation zone. The Galicians have lost their last four games, and have now drop to 17th place.
