Nadur’s carnival kicked off last Sunday with a six-hour programme by Nadur council in the village’s main square. The programme included dancing, comedy sketches, a floats défilé, band marches accompanied by maskeruni and people dressed in carnival costume. A multitude of masked and hooded revellers wearing all kinds of funny and grotesque costumes thronged the streets of Nadur yesterday. The spontaneous carnival will continue today, tomorrow and on Tuesday in the evenings in the square and in December 13th Street. Last Sunday Nadur mayor Edward Said presented mementos to all the participants. Carnival activities will also be held until Tuesday in Victoria, Xagħra, Għajnsielem and San Lawrenz.
