Since 1996, Baladin has been synonymous with Italian hand-crafted beer. Thanks to pioneering brewery founder and master brewer, Teo Musso’s creative flair and commitment, hand-crafted beers are now served in the most refined restaurants and are included in the selections of the best pubs and shops in Italy.

In the past 20 years, Baladin has constantly and incessantly studied new ingredients and production methods, so as to always offer the best possible products. Today, Baladin beers are produced with the best technologies to ensure an artisanal and consistent product.

In November 2016, Musso raised more than €80,000 through an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to create a Baladin Open Garden. The 786,000 square foot beer park in the country’s Piedmont region will open on the summer solstice in June. At the heart of it all is Musso’s Earth to Beer concept.

Anchoring the park in Piozzo is a restored 17th-century farmhouse. A micro malt house on the property will explain the process of converting Italian barley into malt and provide specialty malts for a new beer, Baladin Open Garden, which will be served exclusively at the park.

The second floor includes a space to dry hops picked from 2.5 acres of fields nearby. And tours of a food lab, where visitors can learn how chocolate is produced, will be followed by a guided pairing of Baladin beers and chocolates.

“Teo has found a way to allow people to engage directly with the production of beer’s raw materials,” says Baladin’s marketing manager Fabio Mozzone.

Converted cattle stalls will serve as a pub. Every Sunday a local butcher will sell meat that can be cooked at the park on grills located between the malt house and the hop trellises. Guests will even be able to ask for help from chefs on stuff. The kitchen will cater dinners and other special events.

The new brewery will be set up to teach guests how beer is made according to Baladin’s Earth to Beer agricultural philosophy. It will have an annual production capacity of about 42,600 barrels. Musso hopes the company he founded 30 years ago will be almost completely autonomous by 2022.

Isaac, Nora, Nazionale and Super Bitter from the Baladin range are are imported, marketed and distributed by Farsons Beverage Imports Company Limited.
