I have been following a case of separation for the last two years. I know the husband has to give alimony to his wife and children but I can also see the hardship the man is going through.

This person does not work because his wife has filed so many applications on one complaint or another that he cannot find work as he would, of course, have to take leave to attend court sittings, otherwise he would be fined.

Nobody is ready to employ a person on these conditions.

He is presently receiving €63 a week in social security. He has to pay his wife €500 a month but he cannot afford it and his wife sues him for not giving her alimony. He is then sentenced to two months in jail by a magistrate. This makes it impossible for him to pay even a small amount, besides having his reputation tarnished.

It becomes a vicious circle.

Can something be done to see that justice is served?

The more I speak to others about this case, the more I find similar cases of injustice being meted out.
