The Malta FA Protests Board upheld the protest lodged by Mosta FC against the result of their BOV Premier League second-round match against Pembroke Athleta.

The game, played on February 11 at the Hibernians Stadium, ended 5-0 in favour of Pembroke Athleta but the result has been annulled by the Protests Board who subsequently awarded a 3-0 victory to Mosta.

The governing body’s Protests Board ruled in favour of Mosta after concluding that, under the association’s disciplinary rules, the said match was found to have been vitiated.

Uchenna Anyanwu, who was the team manager of Pembroke at the time of their game against Mosta, is facing match-fixing charges in court.

The MFA is conducting its own investigation into the charges brought against Anyanwu who has already been suspended provisionally from all football activities.
