I would like to publicly thank the Gozo General Hospital because were it not for its staff and facilities I would not be here to write this.
I suffered a heart attack but benefited from some outstanding care. From the prompt arrival of the ambulance, the efficient admission into Emergency, to the wonderful care provided by the staff in CCU, it was first class all the way.
The high professional standards of the staff were matched in equal measure by that special Gozitan virtue of a warm heart (no pun intended), a unique experience and one that especially aids recovery.
My thanks also are due to the CCU Foundation for, thanks to its unstinting charitable efforts over the years under Carmen Bellamy, the ward has been equipped throughout with state-of-the-art equipment. Long may it continue.
We are indeed fortunate to be on this island of Gozo and to have these standards of care, both inside and outside of its hospital.
