Protesters gatheringed near the White House late yesterday angry over the Trump administration for revoking guidance to public schools in defence of transgender student rights.
Former President Obama had instructed public schools in May of last year to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms matching their chosen gender identity.
He threatened to withhold federal funding if a school didn't comply.
The Obama guidelines had already been put on hold by a federal judge.
But yesterday, the White House said they were pressed to act immediately.
Sean Spicer, the White House spokesman said:
"There is a case pending in the Supreme Court in which we have to decide whether or not to continue to issue guidance to the court. It's not -- it's dictated by that."
