Harrell-Bond was in Malta for a keynote speech at a human rights conference organised by the University of Malta’s Human Rights Programme. She was brought to Malta with the support of the President’s Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society.

During her stay she met the PFWS’s Children’s Council and Young People’s Council, where she spoke about the importance of the words used to describe refugees and migrants.

She also took some tough questions about the differences between rights and privileges.
