Whenever I am in Valletta and visit Castille Square at night I cannot help admiring Auberge de Castille, all lit up. Majestic! The fact that there are no more trees makes the façade even more prominent.

Well, I am afraid I cannot say the same for St Lawrence’s church in Vittoriosa. The edifice is older than the Auberge de Castille but, unfortunately, its marvelous architectural splendour is hidden by another monument. It is not that I am against the second monument but I strongly disapprove of its location.

Where is Heritage Malta?

Cannot the second monument be moved to right across the street, in that location at the corner to the entrance to the yacht marina in the direction of Cospicua? There is enough place for it and it would remain as prominent without screening another prestigious monument.

I hope something is done so that all monuments can enjoy their rightful significance.
