Thousands of people watched angels flying from a church tower during the last Advent weekend Christmas market in Ustek, North Bohemia, Czech Republic yesterday.

Three young women dressed as angels were lowered from the St Peter and Paul Church tower in the town's main square, as crowds watched. The women showed no fear as they descended from a height of nearly 30 meters.

The Angels Flying event has since become a popular tradition - hundreds of people from the whole of the Czech Republic now come to watch the show during the last Advent weekend.

"It is a great experience to see the people under you, children smiling and awaiting the angel flying right to them," says oldest angel and mother of two children, Anezka Polackova.
