The eighth edition of the live Christmas nativity village Betleħem f’Għajnsielem was inaugurated last Sunday by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and blessed by Għajnsielem Archpriest Can Frankie Bajada, at Ta’ Passi, Għajnsielem. The opening ceremony started with a concert by St Joseph Band at the main entrance, following which the animators entered the nativity village in a procession. Guests, including Gozo Minister Anton Refalo, parliamentary secretaries Justyne Caruana and Stefan Buontempo and magistrate Joe Mifsud, were shown around the village by project manager Larry Buttigieg and mayor Franco Ciangura. The village will be animated on weekends and public holidays until January 8, when the ceremony of the arrival of the Magi takes place. Opening hours today are from 2.30 to 7.30pm.
