Allow me to air a complaint on something which has been bothering and irking me for quite some time now.

I am referring to the frequently broadcast Xarabank’s visual spot advertisement on TVM wherein a particular person relates how many people watch this programme, with many saying that they do not, but, in actual fact, they do. The spot then ends with that same person declaring that he himself does not watch it. While conceding that this particular spot carries a very subtle message, yet, at the same time, I feel that it is somewhat inappropriate and in bad taste, directly exploiting a person’s particular and special needs.

I do not know what other readers think, but I am sure that the main message intended by the advertisement can be conveyed through other appropriate, even if somewhat humorous,  sarcastic or satirical means.

A person concluding that he does not watch the programme, obviously because of his manifest special needs and disability, in order to ostensibly cajole viewers to tune in to the programme, is definitely not on.
