I refer to your reporting our Prime Minister as describing the Gozo General Hospital as being ‘third class’ and a ‘glorified polyclinic’. I strongly disagree.
I and my family (children, grandchildren) have, over the years been treated at the Gozo Hospital. I have been a patient myself in Gozo and also as a patient in various world-class hospitals. I can categorically state that the professionalism and dedication of the great majority of the staff, doctors and nurses, is second to none. Yes, the hospital is sometimes noisy, but that is part of our Mediterranean DNA.
It remains however, as a safe and reliable haven for all Gozitans, and I dare say, to a growing number of patients from Malta who come to Gozo to be treated here.
