Alderweireld: Tottenham Hotspur welcome back defender Toby Alderweireld for today’s Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow, but will be without injured Erik Lamela, manager Mauricio Pochettino said yesterday. Alderweireld, who has not played since injuring a knee in October, is fit enough for a place on the bench at Wembley Stadium. Lamela has a hip problem and has also not played since October, but he has flown back to his native Argentina for personal reasons.

Morata: Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata is back in full training ahead of today’s crunch Champions League game at home to Borussia Dortmund which will decide who wins Group F. The 24-year-old joined his team-mates on Monday for the first time since he suffered a hamstring injury in Spain’s 2-2 draw with England in a friendly at Wembley on Nov. 15.

Matip: Defender Joel Matip is set to give Liverpool a boost by being fit for Sunday’s Premier League clash with West Ham at Anfield. The 25-year-old has been the stand-out performer in the Reds’ shaky back-line since joining the club from Schalke this summer. Matip sat out Sunday’s trip to Bournemouth with an ankle injury and was badly missed as Liverpool lost 4-3. The loss took the tally of goals conceded without Matip in the Liverpool side to 10 from five games.

Goetze: Attacking midfielder Mario Goetze has been ruled out of Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid due to a knee injury. Dortmund said the injury to the 24-year-old was minor, adding that he had a chance of making the squad for the trip to Cologne in the Bundesliga on Saturday. The German side are top of Group F and a point in Madrid today would see them through to the knockout stages as group winners.

Keita: Lazio striker Keita Balde Diao is facing a period on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury in Sunday’s derby loss to Roma. Keita underwent tests on Monday but Lazio did not comment on the findings. But reports said Keita has a cartilage problem and is likely to skip the match against Sampdoria at the weekend. Keita has failed to score in Lazio’s last three matches in Serie A.
