I am a long-suffering shareholder of the National Bank of Malta, in fact, one of the few surviving original shareholders who still lives in hope of justice being finally meted out and of closure. Some chance!

The Attorney General recently asked for and was granted a postponement, putting off the case for another two months. Procrastination seems to be the order of the day where our case is concerned.

A few years ago the Constitutional Court established that the rights of the shareholders were violated and that compensation was due.

The judgement was later confirmed by the Court of Appeal, yet to date we are still waiting.

Why should it take so long for the Court to appoint a fair and independent arbiter to help him assess what fair compensation is due?

Forty-three years is certainly justice delayed.
