Obituary

CILIA. On November 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, VIOLET, daughter of late John Cilia and the late Emmanuela née Musù, aged 74, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sisters Doris, wife of Antoine Cefai, Nathalie, wife of Adrian Grech Cumbo and Geraldine, wife of Patrick V. Cassar, relatives and friends in Malta and abroad. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Wednesday, November 30, at 1.30pm for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. Her sisters would like to thank assisting personnel at Mater Dei Hospital and at Casa San Paolo, St Paul’s Bay, for their dedicated care and forbearance.

GAUCI. On November 27, at Gozo General Hospital, FRANCIS of Victoria, aged 93, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Marie Louise and her husband Colin Attard, Tonia and her husband Michael Spiteri, and George and his wife Josette, their respective families, his brother George and sister Doris, all other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today, Wednesday, November 30, at 3.30pm for St George’s Basilica, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 4pm, followed by interment at St Mary’s Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MELI. On November 29, at Mater Dei Hospital, RAYMOND, of Floriana, aged 66, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary Anne, his daughters Susan and her husband Adrian Galea residing in Australia, Michelle and her husband Daniel Blackmore, his beloved grandchildren Sienna and Luca, his brother and his sister, his in-laws, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, December 2, at2pm for St Publius parish church, Floriana, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta or www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SERRACINO. On November 29, at his home, JOHN of Senglea, residing in Sliema, aged 78, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Marlene, née Sammut, his daughter Daniela and her husband Tonio Gauci, his grandchildren Luca and Justyne, his brothers, sister, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Thursday, December 1 at 1.30pm for St Julians parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ATTARD – NAZZARENO (ex-PS755). In treasured memory of a dearest father and grandfather, today the 13th anniversary of his death. Much loved and greatly missed, always remembered with love and gratitude. His family.

BORG. In memory of ANGELA, lovingly remembered, deeply missed. Johanna, Marisa and Louis.

FALZON – TONY. Lovingly remembered on his first anniversary by his wife Rita, children Fabian and Abigail.

GASAN – LILIAN, née Mercieca. Today is the 21st anniversary of her death. Fondly remembered with much love and gratitude by her children Paula and her husband Tonio, Sylvia, Joe, Veronica and her husband Michael, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her brothers. Lord, grant her eternal rest. “We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus to life, will also raise us up with Jesus and take us into His presence”. 2 Corinthians 4v14.

GRUPPETTA – DOMENIC. On his 38th anniversary. Always remembered by his sons Arthur, Victor and Maurice and their families. A prayer is appreciated.

MAMO – VANNA. In loving memory, on the 28th anniversary of her death. Rest in peace. Albert, Helen, Vanessa and Mark.

MEA. In loving memory of a father-in-law and grandfather. AURELIO, on the 35th anniversary of his demise. Sadly missed by Herman German, his granddaughter Arienne E. Sullivan, relatives and friends. A prayer is solicited.

VASSALLO – ROSE. In loving memory of our beloved mother on the 19th anniversary of her death. She was an exemplary mother, loving, generous and kind to everyone. Still so very sadly missed and forever in our hearts and prayers. Her children Stephen, Peter, Joe, Christine, Francis and Elsa, widow of her eldest son Luis and their families.
