The Lino Buttigieg Prize for 2016 was awarded to Clint Chetcuti, who obtained the highest score in the IFSP held earlier this year. Mr Chetcuti managed to obtain 91.5 per cent for his answers to the varied questions posed in the paper.

Mr Chetcuti, who graduated as a Bachelor of Accountancy with a First Class degree from the University of Malta in 2006, has been managing director at Amicorp Malta since 2015. He joined Amicorp in 2010 after working at PriceWaterhouse Coopers in Malta.

The Lino Buttigieg Prize is awarded by the IFSP to the student who achieves the top grade in the IFSP Foundation Certificate in Trusts Law and Management exam. The prize was started to honour the memory of Lino Buttigieg, who as a member of the IFSP Council and chair of the IFSP’s education subcommittee, was instrumental in first establishing the course in 2003.

So far, the IFSP has prepared more than 850 people in the essentials of trusts, through a certificate course recognised and endorsed by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

The 14th Foundation Certificate in Trusts Law and Management will be held over April and May 2017. Registrations will open in early December. Anyone interested should visit the IFSP website at www.ifsp.org.mt for more information.
