A new production from Maltese dancer and choreographer Sarah Vella is hitting the boards tomorrow in Valletta.
Conceived in collaboration with Lisa Colette Bysheim from Norway, ME(et) YOU ponders those fleeting moments when a connection is made between two strangers.
What happens in the moment of an encounter? How do we greet others? How can body language communicate these experiences? In what way do social and geographical norms play a part?
These questions and others are at the forefront of this intimate interdisciplinary dance performance that plays between a physical and sensory landscape which explores the many impressions that occur during a first meeting.
Combining dance, music and film, ME (et) YOU premiered in Bergen, Norway, earlier this year and will continue to Berlin following its Malta stop.
■ ME(et) YOU is being held at St James Cavalier tomorrow at 8pm. For more information and tickets, visit keattivita.org. The production is funded and supported by the City of Bergen, the Malta Arts Council – Cultural Export Fund and Bergen Dansesenter-regional competence centre for dance.
