I write on behalf of architect Samuel Formosa in connection with the article entitled ‘Philip Rizzo “did not resign” as FTS CEO but is on long sick leave, lawyer says’ (November 16).

In the article, my client was referred to as the chairman of the Foundation for Tomorrow’s Schools (FTS) even though his term expired last June and was not renewed and he, therefore, had nothing to do with the alleged incident that was reported in this newspaper.

On a request from my client, an errata corrige was carried in this newspaper but instead of referring to my client, the note referred to a “Saviour Falzon”.

Given this double error, my client wishes to draw the attention of both the Times of Malta and that of readers to the fact that he was no longer chairman of FTS when the alleged incident reported in this newspaper occurred since his term expired in June 2016 and was not renewed. Therefore, my client was never involved in the alleged clash with Rizzo, as reported.

Editorial note: Both errors are regretted. For the record, it should be pointed out that the name of the FTS chairman that appeared in the November 16 article was obtained from the foundation’s website.
