The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Malta, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Rome, celebrated the Czech Cultural Week and the Czech National Day at the Malta Chamber of Commerce in Valletta.

An exhibition celebrating Emperor Charles IV’s 700th anniversary served as a backdrop for several events, including two concerts featuring the Bohemia Saxophone Quartette, one of which  in aid of the Brain Research programme of the University of Malta.

An important event was a visit by Czech Foreign Affairs Minister Lubomír Zaorálek, who was accompanied by a high level delegation. The delegation had meetings with government officials, including Foreign Affairs Minister George Vella and Deputy Prime Minister and European Affairs Minister Louis Grech.

The visit came to an end with a Czech state reception attended by President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, Members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, Members of Parliament and other guests.
