A 30-piece solo exhibition by artist and sculptor Martin Bezzina Wettinger is currently ongoing in Mdina. Including soft pastel and charcoal nudes as well as reliefs and wooden sculptures, Disclosed examines the lines, shades and shadows of the human form.

A scientist by profession, Bezzina Wettinger’s regard for the human figure is made evident in his art. He pays particular attention to the proportions of the human body. The position and posture of his subjects is focused upon in his newest collection of paintings where raw emotions are represented.

Bezzina Wettinger is a lecturer in maths and physics at the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology and has produced a considerable number of artistic works, including a wooden cirmolo sculpture of the Mother and Child currently at the University chapel. Wood is the artist’s favourite medium although his works also include miniature replicas of various patron saints as well numerous paintings using all conventional media, including watercolour, charcoal or pastels.
