Educator Anthony DeGiovanni will deliver a lecture on the understanding of Buddhist images tonight in Valletta.

The talk will discuss Buddhist iconography and explore the various features in paintings and sculptures in order to better understand the meaning conveyed by these works of art.

DeGiovanni is a graduate in history of art and architecture from the University of London. He has served as head of the Malta School of Art, taught visual arts for several years and lectured in the teaching of art, design and technology.

• The lecture is taking place tonight at 6.30pm at the Chinese Cultural Centre in Valletta during the general conference of the Malta China Friendship Society. It is being held in collaboration with the Chinese Cultural Centre.
