On October 27, my husband and I were flying back to the UK but the taxi did not show up at 4am, as agreed, and had still not arrived at 4.30.

How could we get another one at short notice at that time? We found the answer: at the Qawra police station.  They immediately came to our rescue.

They got us a taxi and, somehow, we managed to catch our flight with five minutes to spare before check-in closed.

So 11 out of 10 for the two officers on duty and the same for the taxi driver who pulled out all the stops to get us to the airport.

A big thank you to both parties and it still goes to show that if you want an answer to a question ‘just ask a policeman’.
