In his concluding remarks on Budget 2017, Joseph Muscat reportedly said: “We inherited a country with no structures in place to fight corruption” (October 26).

So let me see if I’ve got it right.

We should blame the Nationalist Party for not putting in the structures that would not have allowed Konrad Mizzi, Keith Schembri and Lord Egrant to open offshore trust accounts in Panama wherein to deposit money amounting to a minimum of €1 million per account per annum.

We should blame the PN, not Muscat, for all the corruption that has been happening since Labour came into power because Muscat “inherited a country with no structures in place to fight corruption”.

My heart bleeds for him.
