Sometime ago, my wife and my daughter went to an HSBC branch to make the necessary changes so our daughter can have her own account and manage it accordingly.

The point I would like to raise is the following: how can HSBC decide (through their cashiers as representatives), that my daughter’s ID card, with my wife in vivo next to her and producing her ID card – showing the address on both documents – is, to them, inadequate as proof that my daughter is ‘the daughter’ and living with us?

This is utterly nonsense banking. The ID card is an official document and should be treated as such.

If it was only possible I could do away with banks!
