MERCIECA. On October 31, at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre, Mater Dei Hospital, EMANUEL of Sliema, aged 65, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Imelda, née Oliva, his daughters Loren and her husband Christopher, Luisa and her husband David, and Lucienne and her husband Steven, his grandchildren Jacques, Juan, Leanne and Leah, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Tuesday, November 1, at 1.30pm. for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Community Chest Fund, Valletta, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
SPITERI. On October 28, JOSEPH of Paola, aged 70. He leaves to mourn his loss his sisters Carmen and her husband Laurence Mizzi, Lina, Maria, widow of Paul Formosa and Sr Marie Therese dlp of the Little Sisters of the Poor, his brother Fr Victor Spiteri, OFM Cap., nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today, Tuesday, November 1 at 8.30am at Christ the King parish church, Paola, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Bazaar
A bazaar is being held at the St Helen parish centre in Birkirkara (behind the basilica) from Tuesday, November 8, to Wednesday, November 16. Opening hours will be daily between 9am and noon and 4.30 to 7.30pm. Saturday and Sunday morning only.
Among items for sale will be antiques, collectables, furniture, home grown pot plants and bric a brac.
