Hull: Hull City have been dealt a blow with the news defender Moses Odubajo will be out for around six months with a fractured patella. The right-back, who had just stepped up his recovery from a knee injury which required reconstructive surgery during the summer, sustained his latest injury in a non-contact incident during training.

Rotherham: Former Wolves manager Kenny Jackett is primed to take over at Sky Bet Championship strugglers Rotherham. The Millers made Alan Stubbs their shortest serving manager in the club’s history on Wednesday when they fired him after a run of six successive defeats. And they are acting fast in finding a replacement as Press Association Sport understands that they are lining up Jackett, with talks already taking place.

Bribe charges: A former sports marketing executive arrested last year during a US corruption probe involving soccer’s global governing body FIFA pleaded guilty yesterday to participating in schemes to pay bribes to a top official. Aaron Davidson, former president of the Miami-based unit of Brazilian sports marketing conglomerate Traffic Group, entered his plea in federal court in Brooklyn to charges of racketeering conspiracy and wire fraud conspiracy.

Semedo: Everton are eyeing a move for Sporting Lisbon star Ruben Semedo and have sent scouts to watch him, according to A Bola. Serie A sides Milan and Napoli are also reportedly interested in the defender, who has a release clause of around €45 million.

Gomez: Bournemouth and Huddersfield are interested in signing Liverpool’s Joe Gomez on loan, the Liverpool Echo reported yesterday. The defender, who returned to training last week after a long-term cruciate knee injury and then Achilles problem, may move for a return to first-team football. The 19-year-old arrived at Liverpool from Charlton last summer.
