Melita have increased the tariff for international calls within the EU by over 230 per cent from fixed-line phones, from €0.03 to €0.10 per minute.

How has this gone unnoticed by the regulators and the public?

Despite an interminable time spent ‘on hold’ and in queues nobody I have spoken to can or will tell me how or why this has happened. I am simply told “This is the new price”.

Can someone explain how this can be allowed to happen? Given that prices and tariffs are falling all across Europe how can Melita justify or be allowed to implement an increase of over 200 per cent in their prices?
