Charles IV (1316 – 1378) was King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor and stands among the most exceptional personalities of Czech and European history. He was an ambitious sovereign, shrewd politician and urbanistic visionary. The exhibition will offer its visitors the opportunity to learn about this historical personality as well as about the city he made his home and loved over all others, Prague.

The Chamber will also host a concert by the Bohemia Saxophone Quartet which is open to the public. This professional ensemble established in 1990 is made up of four accomplished musicians who interpret diverse types of music. Their surprisingly colourful techniques, balanced yet distinct sound and creative original arrangements of a wide ranging musical repertoire have seen them perform in all sorts of venues both in the Czech Republic and overseas.

The concert is being held on Friday, October 21, at 8pm and will be held in aid of the brain research programme of the University of Malta. The Honorary Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Malta is pleased to support the Research, Innovation and Development Trust (RIDT) of the University of Malta in its drive to bolster the research activity of the University through public support.

■ The exhibition is open from 9am to 4pm daily from today until Friday.

Friday’s concert is free of charge but reservations can be made by sending an e-mail to info@ridt.org.mt.
