I have noticed that cars emitting dangerous fumes are on the increase. This, together with the constant traffic on the roads must be polluting our air to a very high level.

After inhaling some very noxious fumes from an old banger I decided to take his number and report him.

I phoned up Transport Malta and a very polite lady answered. But when I told her I wanted to report a car, she replied that I would have to file a report through a message – and she gave me the number.  I then asked her to confirm that action would be taken, to which she replied “action will only be taken if we receive three reports”.  That figures – that is why air pollution is increasing.

I cannot see the reason behind this decision and if whoever took it holds a high position, then he should perhaps take three steps down and let others do some good cleaning up of our roads.

All I know is that, like many others, I suffer from asthma and living in Malta is becoming life-threatening because of inaction.
