This year’s Nobel Prize for Chemistry has been awarded on the topic of molecular machines, meaning microscopic machines capable of manoeuvering across the smallest of chemical structures. This field would also help in understanding how processes related with DNA work. In the picture shown, one such example of DNA replication is modelled. It is expected that these machines will take on new technological importance as the field advances over time.
