The Barrakka in Republic Street, Victoria, has been floodlit pink this month as part of the Pink October breast cancer awareness campaign. The covered platform was used in the past by the Governor of Gozo to distribute prizes after the horse races held on August 15. The structure dates back to 1733 and is thought to have been designed by François de Mondion.
