After the summer months, wine masterclasses are back at Ellul Wines & Spirits. Recently, South African Simonsig wines took centre stage during an event conducted by senior wine-maker and owner of Simonsig Estate John Malan.

Named after the dramatic views of the Simonsberg Mountain, the Malan family wine estate is ideally located in the premier wine region of Stellenboch.

Simonsig Estate upholds a proud family history of fine wines handed down over 10 generations after the French set foot in the country.

The late Frans Malan, beloved patriarch and pioneer of the South African wine industry left an indelible legacy with numerous Simonsig signature wines.

Today, Simonsig vineyards comprise 210 hectares, producing an extensive range of formidable red, white and Methode Cap Classique wines.

Sold in more than 55 countries, Simonsig enjoys considerable international and local acclaim for its award-winning wines, including the Kaapse Vonkel Brut, the Sunbird Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, the award-winning Pinotage and the Tiara among others.

These wines can be found at Ellul Wines & Spirits of 152, Santa Luċjia Street, Valletta.

For upcoming wine masterclasses follow their events on their Face-book page or subscribe to their mailing list by sending an e-mail to ellulwines@gmail.com.
