A lecturer at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (Mcast) has had scientific articles published in two leading prestigious scientific photovolatiacs and energy journals, Progress in Photovoltaics and Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells.

Entitled ‘Future development promise for plastic-based solar electricity’ and ‘Multi-criteria decision making for PV deployment on a multinational level’, the articles were authored by Brian Azzopardi, a senior Mcast lecturer and coordinator of its Vocational Institute .

The international and inter-disciplinary journals  aim to be leading peer-reviewed platforms and an authoritative source of information on photovoltaic technology, targeted at professionals, researchers and energy policy-makers.

The research, which originated from Dr Azzopardi’s doctorate studies, was supported by the UK Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC), where Azzopardi is also a visiting senior research fellow at Oxford Brookes University as well as two EU COST Actions, where Mcast is represented on the management committee.

Financial support also came from the Lithuanian Research Council and the Kaunas University of Technology Rector’s Scholarships awards.
