A group of University of Malta undergraduate engineering students and postgraduate students following the M.Sc. in Integrated Product Development recently participated in an industrial study tour to Germany. The students visited the manufacturing line of the BMW 3 and 4 Series models in Munich and observed the manufacturing of various civil and military Tiger heli­copters and Airbus door panels at Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth.

They also saw the manufacturing of various models of trucks at M.A.N., the plasma power generation research facilities at Max Planck Institute and the Deutches Museum, the world’s largest museum of science and technology.

The tour was organised by the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering and was led by Dr Philip Farrugia and Dr Arif Rochman.
