ATTARD. On October 5, at Mater Dei Hospital, Fr LAWRENCE ATTARD, OP, aged 80, went to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss the Dominican province and his religious brothers of the Sliema community, his sister Carmen and her husband Joseph Parascandalo, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said on Saturday, October 8 at 9am at Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
VELLA. On September 29, at Epsom General Hospital, UK, CARMEN, née Azzopardi, aged 73, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, just 11 days after celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary with her beloved husband Joseph. She leaves to mourn her loss her dear children Noel, Charlmaine, Claude and his wife Rachel, her dear grandsons Santiago and Alessandro, her other relatives and many friends in both Malta and the UK. Mass præsente cadavere will be said on Monday, October 10 at 3.30pm at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary parish church, Mellieħa, followed by interment at Mellieħa parish cemetery. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and other carers for their kindness and compassion. Donations to Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
