It’s the carelessness on the part of the authorities that brought about the state in which the Azure Window is in today.

Gozo is famed for its expert stone masons. I wonder if any of them could find a way to repair the damage erosion has caused to the Azure Window.

It would be a good idea to construct a row of arches (as the one sketched above) made from granite or concrete, supporting a concrete platform under its bridge, with the gap reinforced with concrete.

Nothing lasts forever but if action is taken, Gozo’s iconic Azure Window in Dwejra will continue to be enjoyed by all, for years to come.
