Alejandro Gomez scored the pick of the goals as 10-man Atalanta registered a convincing 3-1 victory at Serie A bottom club Crotone.

Forward Andrea Petagna opened the scoring for the visitors, surging past defender Noe Dussenne on the right before cutting inside and slotting into the bottom left corner in the third minute.

Slovenian midfielder Jasmin Kurtic chested in Remo Freuler’s left-wing corner after a mistake by Crotone goalkeeper Alex Cordaz to double the lead before Argentinian forward Gomez smashed a 25-yard effort into the top-right corner in first-half stoppage time.

The hosts, without a win this season, were given a boost when Ivory Coast international Franck Kessie was shown a straight red card for a high tackle on Belgian Dussenne in the 62nd minute, and they pulled one back four minutes from time through a close-range finish from substitute Simy.
