I have often written about the holiness of the Servants of God Henry and Ineż Casolani, who I got to know through Fr Prof. Maurice Eminyan whose discernment I value. The couple were devoted to Jesus and I appeal to the Cana Movement to sponsor through prayer their cause for beatification. As written by Anton Qintano, theirs was a simple life of holiness, as is the case of many Maltese and Gozitan couples who like them lived a life of holiness in marriage.

Recently we saw the publication of an excellent book on St Mother Teresa called ‘Il Miracolo delle Piccole Cose’ (Rizzoli). The Casolanis arrived to holiness through the fusion of faith with little things.

However, I am also writing to draw the attention of believers to several Maltese and Gozitan priests, nuns and laity whose causes are open but who, perhaps, we need to pray to more.

Three years ago at the beatification of the martyr Fr Giuseppe Pulisi, who was murdered by the mafia in Palermo, I spoke to the Vatican’s Secretary of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints who was well aware of the list of Maltese Servants of God.

He advised me to tell people to pray for the canonisation of Blessed Nazju Falzon and Blessed Adeodata Pisani. I think this is a wise judgement and I appeal to the nuns and all those responsible to promote in all parishes a devotion to intercede for a miracle.
