The slogan ‘Let’s all succeed together’ very significantly reflects what the PN’s policy is all about.

EU benefits, for instance, are accessible to all, ranging from the present Prime Minister who was MEP despite his vote against Europe, to anyone who benefits from a better standard of living, including quality roads and access to better quality products.

From the Opposition over the last three years, the PN has presented an incredible number of proposals and documents, including pre-budget documents for the first time. Their contents are indicative of tangible policies waiting to be implemented for all should Simon Busuttil be elected Prime Minister. These policies are feasible given they are based on transparency, accountability, meritocracy and above all honesty.

Succeeding together means creating opportunities for all while ensuring that the vulnerable get a helping hand, within an inclusive society.

This can only be achieved by doing away with an inner circle grabbing exorbitant salaries or secret bank accounts, or clinching property deals amounting to millions from public ownership.

A newly formed majority is evaluating the performance of the two leaders and will vote accordingly. There will always be those who are fanatically attached to a party and be blinded in the face of scandal after scandal.

There are those who – as Fr Joe Borg wrote in his recent article entitled ‘Is this the age of the stupid?’ – auction their vote to the highest bidder. Such voters vary from those reaping millions of euros to common folk who got a job they do not deserve.

The new majority, however, knows this country deserves the best reputation and needs to be governed by a leader within a team focusing on the common good while creating opportunities for all.

Busuttil’s honest approach to politics guarantees a clean administration. Possessing statesmanship qualities, he instils in the people the appreciation of the truth that honesty pays, not only in politics but in our daily lives.

With honesty, therefore, let’s all succeed together…
