Castille Institute is holding a one-day seminar on October 12 on ‘Blockchain’ at the Old University campus in Valletta. This technology has become a key area of attention and innovation for academics, journalists and numerous stakeholders across a variety of sectors and disciplines.

The event is sponsored by Grant Thornton Malta and Trident Software and is the result of a fruitful collaboration between Castille Institute and Coinsilium, a UK blockchain technology investment and development company. Much has been said about blockchain over the past months and it is challenging to separate the hype from the facts. The aim of the seminar is to offer attendees a better technical understanding of such emerging development.

The course will cover multiple aspects of the current tech ecosystem with a focus on the applications in the banking and insurance sectors. The programme will also include an overview of the regulatory environment surrounding digital currencies, financial services and gaming compliance and the use of blockchain technologies for security purposes.

The programme will be led by global fintech experts Hakim Mamoni (CTO of Coinsilium) and Adam Vaziri (director of Diacle – blockchain pioneer, lawyer and entrepreneur). A further speaker is Luis Pastor (head of IT consulting at Grant Thornton – Madrid).
