The Church has so far raised €190,880 in aid of the victims of the August 24 earthquake in central Italy.

Money was collected in all parishes and through the Caritas Malta Emergency Fund, the Curia said. 

Archbishop Charles J Scicluna thanked all donors. 

The funds will be transferred to Caritas Internationalis, which is providing 1,200 meals every day and providing shelter to many victims who lost their homes. 

Further donations may be made by cheque to the Caritas Malta Emergency Fund, 5, Triq l-Iljun, Floriana FRN 1514.
