Updated with video of flying display.

The 24th edition of the Malta International Airshow kicked off today and continues tomorrow.

A static display is being held at Malta International Airport (near Lufthansa Teknik), featuring participants from Malta, France, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, the UK and the US.

All the aircraft will be on display from 10am to 3.30pm. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance to the static display and will cost €8 for adults, while children aged 14 and younger can enter for free.

The park can be accessed from Ħal Farruġ Road.

A flying display will be held offshore and will best be viewed from Smart City.

The star of this year's show is a Ukrainian AF Sukoi 27 Flanker fighter aircraft. An aerobatic display will be held by Team Iskra, the Polish national display team.

This year sees the last-ever display by the Italian AB212 helicopter of the Italian Military Mission as it winds down its search and rescue mission in Malta.

Other displays will be presented by various AFM aircraft and a P-8 Poseidon operated by the US Navy on its first-ever deployment to Europe.
