After last’s year successful exhibition of niches and statues around Żejtun, Żejtun Organisation to Empower You is this weekend hosting It-Tinqixa, an exhibition on architecture and sculpture around the historic streets of Żejtun.

In Żejtun, one can find beautiful houses around the Urban Conservation Area, in squares, alleys, curved and grid streets, in particular in Bisqallin (Lower Village), Ħal Bisbut and Ħal Ġwann (Upper Village).

There are elegant buildings from the times of the Knights of St John to the British Empire. Other buildings are in baroque, classic, neo-Gothic and nouveau styles.

Żejtun Organisation to Empower You (ŻOEY), is a voluntary organisation run by youths, which works mostly in favour of the preservation and appreciation of culture, tourism and education. Anyone with an interest in these aspects is welcome to join this organisation.

■ The exhibition will officially open today at 7pm at The Arts and Crafts Centre, St Gregory Street, Żejtun, and runs till Sunday. It will remain open during the Żejt iż-Żejtun event. Entrance is free.
