On September 21, JOSEPH P., ex-senior executive, Central Bank of Malta, formerly of Safi, living in Paola, widow of Jane, née Schembri, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by his family. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his children, Rita and her husband Ronald, Mario and his wife Antonella, Aldo, nieces Isabelle and Chanel, his brothers and sisters and their respective spouses, other many relatives and friends. DARMANIN. On September 20, MARIA, née Cutajar, of Żebbuġ, aged 35, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. SANT CASSIA. On Thursday, September 22, at Mater Dei Hospital, after a long illness borne with Christian fortitude, MARIO, Ph.C., M.D., residing at Wardija, St Paul’s Bay, aged 92, surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church, passed away peacefully to meet the Lord. He leaves to mourn his great loss, his loving, devoted and caring wife Melina née Boffa, his cherished children Paul and his wife Kristina, Suzanne and her husband Mario, Peter and his wife Marie Louise, and Joanna and her husband Joseph, his beloved grandchildren Simon, Mark, Maria, Chiara, Andrea and Christian, other relatives and friends, the Wardija community, and his carers Florante and Jennyvie Bartolome. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday September 24, at 1.30pm for the Metropolitan Cathedral of Mdina, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2pm (parking available at It-Tomba, Howard Gardens, Rabat, with access near the Roman Villa), followed by interment in the family grave at the Carmelite Crypt, Mdina. The family is grateful to Fr Guido Muscat OFM Conv who consistently gave spiritual support and solace to him and to his wife. The family also thanks the family doctor, and all consultants, doctors, nurses and staff at Mater Dei Hospital, for their professionalism, compassion and dedication.
