A motorcyclist died and a pedestrian was injured in a traffic accident in St Paul’s Bay this evening.

The police said the accident happened at Dawret il-Gzejjer at around 7pm when a 40-year-old foreign motorcyclist, who lives in St Paul’s Bay, was thrown off the bike after he lost control. 

The bike was thrown for several metres, hitting some benches along the promenade.

As a result, a 33-year-old pedestrian, a foreigner who lives in St Paul’s Bay, was also injured.

Both men were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. The motorcyclist died in hospital. The pedestrian was slightly injured.

An inquiry is being held.
