A group of 40 police officers who served in the force in the past took their oath to rejoin the force on a part-time basis today.

They will be working 23 to 35 hours a week, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said.

They will be supporting in force in areas where they are required.

The ‘new’ officers had retired after serving in the force for 25 years or earlier for personal reasons.

But “once a policeman, always a policeman”, Mr Abela said.
