On Saturday, Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar (FAA) is holding Cinema Under the Stars at the Villa Bologna Gardens, showing the 1972 British comedy thriller film Pulp, set and shot in Malta.

The performance by the young Michael Caine – playing the main character – is an unforgettable experience carried off with caustic wit, panache and style.

Pulp is praised by critics as an ‘unregarded gem’, a ‘comedy treat’ that has ‘much comedic value’ and full of ‘well-derived one-liners’.

However, what makes this movie a stunning cinematic classic is the unique location on the Maltese isles, bathed in russet colours and offbeat charm.

The setting of the ‘Cinema Under the Stars’ night is similarly stunning: Villa Bologna is an 18th-century Maltese country palace surrounded by lush gardens in Attard.

Before the screening, Jean Paul Borg will be giving a few minutes of introduction on the cinematic background, while members of the original cast and crew will share their memories of their time on the Pulp film set.

Doors open at 7pm, and ticketscan be booked at https://ticketengine.faa.org.mt/ or by calling 2010 6428 from 10am to 5pm.
